The TBU Technology Transfer Center in Zlín (TTC) implemented the following seminars for students and staff of TBU in Zlín in 2025:
According to the “Strategic Plan of TBU in Zlín for the period 21+ and Implementation Plans” and based on the realization of the “Implementation Plan of the Strategic Plan of TBU in Zlín for the period 21+ for the year 2025”, the following seminars took place in 2025:
The UPPER Creative Industries Center in cooperation with CTT organized a total of 3 workshops in the 1st half of 2025:
On March 24, 2025, a workshop entitled “Designer’s Rights – Design and Law in Practice” was held (11 people participated), on March 31, 2025, a workshop “Film Copyright: The Journey from Idea to Work” was held (14 people participated) and on April 14, 2025, a workshop “Intellectual Property as a Marketing Tool” was held (10 people participated).
On 21. 10. 2025, a seminar of the Technology Transfer Center entitled “Intellectual Property and its Legal Protection – Practical Examples Solved at CTT” was held, which was attended by 36 participants.
Within the project “Development of Application Potential in the Field of Polymer Materials in the Context of Fulfilling the Principles of the Circular Economy (POCEK) CZ.02.01.01/00/23_021/0009004, the Technology Transfer Center organized a professional workshop entitled “Technology Transfer at TBU in Zlín” on 13. 11. 2025, which was attended by a total of 31 participants.
The CTT team held an educational seminar “Intellectual Property as a Marketing Tool” for students of the Faculty of Economics of TBU in Zlín. The seminar took place on December 15, 2024 at the Faculty of Economics and Business and was attended by a total of 33 students.
In 2025, TBU in Zlín via the Transfer Technology Centre participated in the 6th year of the TRANSFERA TECHNOLOGY DAY 2025 competition, which was organized by the Transfera.cz association.
3 technologies (UNI – CPS, FAI, FT) were nominated for the final round by TBU. Two technologies, namely; the technology “Efficient and ecological production of advanced conductive and non-toxic (bio)materials and composites based on polypyrrole” (UNI – CPS) and the technology “FLAPRIS – a smart helper not only in the event of flash floods” (FAI), received the Certificate “Finalist of TRANSFERA TECHNOLOGY DAY 2025”.
The “TRANSFERA TECHNOLOGY DAY 2025 Finalist” certificate is a mark of quality and will help with practical application aimed to the connecting top results of Czech scientific research with investors, industrial partners and the public sphere.
The technology “More friendly gelatine from chicken? New technology changes the rules of the game” won third place in this prestigious national competition Transfera Technology Day 2025.
Transfera Technology Day 2025 is intended for representatives of companies looking for new technologies and innovations, investors, representatives of state administration and media interested in technology transfer and the development of the Czech innovation ecosystem.
TBU in Zlín, through CTT, participated in the competition for the INNOVATION OF THE YEAR 2024 Award which is announced regularly since 1996 by the Association of Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Czech Republic.
The competition evaluates the highest quality innovative products of applicants based in the Czech Republic.
Two technologies from Tomas Bata University in Zlín advanced to the final of the Innovation Award 2025 and received HONORABLE RECOGNITION in the competition for the INNOVATION OF THE YEAR 2025 Award. These were the Educational Illustrated Book “Don’t Forget Your Feet” (HOST – Publishing House s.r.o., FMK) and the technology “A New Generation of Anti-Corrosion Pigments Multiplies the Protection of Metal Surfaces with an Emphasis on Their Ecological and Rational Economic Efficiency” (ROKOSPOL, a.s., UNI – CPS).
The educational illustrated book “Don’t forget your feet” was the subject of the sub-project “Educational fairy tale with elements of podiatry” (a project of TBU in Zlín, the Technology Transfer Center, which was solved by the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, the researcher Ing. Radomila Soukalová, Ph.D et al.), which was part of the comprehensive project Commercialization at Tomas Bata University in Zlín II (TP01010006, 01/2020 – 12/2022) funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.
This project for TBU was acquired through the Technology Transfer Center, which also contributed to the transfer of the created knowledge into practice: on 11. 01. 2023 an exclusive license “Publishing License Agreement” was signed with HOST – vydavatelstvi s.r.o. , with the validity until 31. 12. 2030.
The technology “New generation of anti-corrosion pigments increasing the protection of metal surfaces many times over, highlighting their ecological and rational economic efficiency” was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic within the project CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/20_321/0025211 (UNI – CPS, researcher Ing. Michal Machovský, Ph.D.), “Agreement on the provision of know-how (License Agreement)” for these outputs was signed between TBU in Zlín and ROKOSPOL a.s. on 08. 01. 2024, for a period of 15 years from the date of its effectiveness.
