History
History of the Footwear Research Center
The center was founded on the initiative of the company Baťa, which was looking for a suitable partner for research into footwear materials and innovative processes. The operation of the center was ceremonially opened on May 18, 2019 in the presence of a number of personalities, as well as members of the Bata family – Tomáš Bata’s grandson George Thomas Bata and granddaughter Rosemarie Blyth Bata. Prof. was appointed as the first director. Igor Emri, DrSc., who worked at TUB as part of his research stay.
After the end of the research stay, prof. As part of the selection process, Emriho was appointed to the position of current director Ing. Tomáš Sáha, Ph.D.
