Footwear Research Centre

About FRC

The Footwear Research Center was established in 2019. Its operation started on April 30, 2019. It is a research unit with global scope for research, development and testing of footwear materials, technologies and design. The basic philosophy of the center is to design healthy, functional and comfortable footwear that will meet the requirements of today’s customers.

The center has three research facilities:

In the field of research activities, the Footwear Research Center is linked to the University Institute, where it closely cooperates with the Center for Technology Transfer and the Center for Polymer Systems. In the field of education, it cooperates with the Faculty of Multimedia Communications in the education of shoe designers and with the Faculty of Technology in the education of shoe specialists.

The center is part of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) and the Czech Footwear and Leather Association (ČOKA). In the short period of its operation, it has already won the Red Dot Product Design, German Innovation Awards and Global Foowear Awards for its results.
