Summer school specialized teaching on the topic of rubber “Sustainable material of the future”
17. June 2024On 17-21 June 2024, the Centre for Polymer Systems, Tomas Bata University in Zlín will host a summer school on the topic of rubber “Sustainable material of the future”. This course is aimed exclusively at students of PhD degree programmes. 36 PhD students from 13 different European universities and research institutions, including the Centre for Polymer Systems, who are involved in rubber research, will participate. These universities and institutions are:
– German Institute for Rubber Technologies, Hannover, Germany
– Leibniz Institut fuer Polymerforschung in Dresden, Dresden, Germany
– University of Twente, Twente, The Netherlands
– Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Bratislava, Slovakia
– Queen Mary University of London, London, United Kingdom
– Institute of Polymer Science and Technology, Madrid, Spain

– Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy
– Elanova, Paris, France
– University of Chemical Technology in Prague, Prague, Czech Republic
This summer school is a continuation of previous successful summer schools in the past, the last one being held in 2023 at the German Institute for Rubber Technologies in Hannover, Germany, which we attended as guests. It has become a rule that students are accompanied by their tutors and this is no different at our summer school. That is why we are honored to welcome 17 world-leading university professors with their students here at the Centre of polymer systems.
We believe that the summer school will provide many interesting scientific stimulus for the students as well as new scientific partnerships will be established for future research in the field of rubber and in rubber research as a sustainable material of the future.
