Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski presents at CPS
15. September 2023On 8 September 2023, the Centre for Polymer Systems was visited by internationally renowned chemist Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski from Carnegie Mellon University. The lecture on “New Macromolecular Materials Enabled by ATRP” was attended by over fifty students and employees of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski talked about the mechanisms of controlled radical polymerisation and the possibilities that these reactions offer for the preparation of novel defined materials and their applicability in the field. He presented advances in the preparation of materials for environmental, biological, energy and other applications. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski visited the CPS laboratories and the technology hall; he also met with Prof. Petr Sáha, the Director of the University Institute, and the senior management of the Centre to discuss the topics of bilateral cooperation.
