The Footwear Research Centre Opens the Laboratory of Diagnostics of the Musculoskeletal System
3. October 2023In the Footwear Research Centre of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, the Laboratory of Diagnostics of the Musculoskeletal System will be opened on 4 October 2023.
This research unit will operate as a professional counselling centre for a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of the foot as a whole. It will provide a detailed analysis of the feet, make an evaluation under static and dynamic load and carry out the subsequent assessment of further influence on the body posture.
This diagnostics, together with professional consultations and provision of instructions, will then be used in order to develop a specific tailor-made design – for example, a design of a suitable footwear, or aids such as orthopaedic or prosthetic active insoles, or insoles with a stimulating effect.
Here, an important factor is the interconnection between the scientific and research sphere and business and industry, i.e. collaboration with companies producing comfortable, functional and healthy footwear.
