Researcher from the Centre of Polymer Systems will conduct research at a prestigious Canadian university

March 2024Zahra Yadollahi, a Ph.D. student studying Biomaterials and Biocomposites at the Centre of Polymer Systems of TBU in Zlín, has succeeded in the Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA), a competition supporting international mobilities. She was selected to conduct research at the top workplace of the University of Waterloo in Canada. The collaboration was established in 2023 at the Polymer Processing Society conference in Switzerland. At the conference, Zahra met Professor Milad Kamkar, who leads a team dealing with biomaterials for medical applications at the university. Zahra’s research focuses on natural polysaccharides based on chitin, a renewable material with significant potential in the medical field. Her work aims to create a structure based on this substance that can be tailored to each patient’s tissue regeneration needs in a 3D design.
