Prof. Petr Sáha Received Award from the Senate of the Parliament of the CR

Prof. Ing. Petr Sáha, CSc., Rector Emeritus of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, received a Commemorative Silver Medal from the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. He was presented with the award by Mr. Jaroslav Kubera, President of the Senate, on the eve of the Day of Czech Statehood. To mark the public holiday of 28 September, the President of the Senate awards commemorative silver medals to outstanding personalities from the world of science, arts and sports, and to other personalities outstanding in their profession.

Prof. Sáha is the founder and was a long-serving Rector (2001-2007, 2010-2018) of the Zlín-based university. He is also very active on the international scene – he holds the post of Professor at many universities abroad (East China University of Science and Technology, Clemson University, USA, Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu). As regards his specialization, Professor Sáha focuses on research in the area of material engineering, energetic materials, biocomposites and medical polymers. He has dozens of specialist publications and conference papers to his name. He is also the author and co-author of many granted patents, utility models, prototypes and industrial designs. At present, he holds the post of Vice-Rector for Research, Development and Creative Activities at TBU in Zlín. Prof. Sáha has been playing a significant role in the formulation of the strategy for orientation of Czech higher education by means of his active membership of various expert committees and scientific boards of Czech higher education institutions focused on technology.
