Meeting on a project financed by the Visegrad Fund

The  3rd meeting of  project titled “Biodegradable metal development and surface functionalization V4 network” funded by Visegrad Fund, took place between 18-21 March 2024 in Zlin.

The title was  “Short stay with practical demonstrations focused on material surface functionalization“. The project is about developing a new biodegradable metal-polymer composite with a functional bioactive surface to interact with living tissue within the body. The composite is biodegradable zinc and magnesium based metallic alloy and its surface coating with degradable polymer composites as a substrate to create bioactive functional surfaces to accelerate cellular interactions and avoid thrombus formation and bacterial contamination. In addition to scientists from CPS, are also involved in the project countries as Slovakia ( Prof.Renáta Oriňaková, Assoc. Prof. Andrea Straková Fedorková, Dr. Radka Gorejová, and Dr.  Ivana Šišoláková),  Poland (Prof. Agata Przekora-Kusmierz, Vladyslav Vivcharenko, and Marta Trzaskowska) and Hungary ( Dr.  Csilla Wiener, and Wanrong Du)
