Doc. Ivo Kuřitka successful before the TBU Scientific Board

On Tuesday, 19 September 2023, doc. Ing. et Ing. Ivo Kuřitka, Ph.D. et Ph.D. appeared before the TBU Scientific Board as part of a procedure to appoint a professor, where he defended his thesis entitled Hierarchicky strukturované nanokompozity: od jednotlivosti k celku (Hierarchically Structured Nanocomposites: from a Detail to the Whole).

A member of the academic staff, Doc. Ivo Kuřitka is active as the Head of the Nanomaterials and Advanced Technologies research line at the Centre of Polymer Systems of Tomas Bata University in Zlín and, at the same time, as a teacher at the University’s Faculty of Technology. His core activity has been polymer modification and processing, synthesis of nanomaterials as well as preparation of nanocomposites and characterisation of their useful properties. He has produced over 150 technical papers in this field published in impacted scientific journals. He has also been the principal investigator / co-investigator within some 30 projects in applied and basic research, co-developing five patents and numerous utility models / functional samples. Among his most important collaborations with the field are Advanced Plastics research projects implemented for the Moravian-Silesian Automotive Cluster. In the future, Doc. Kuřitka plans to continue to focus on low-emission technologies and materials using carbon dioxide.
