The footwear testing laboratory defended its accreditation

Zlín, January 26, 2021 – For the second time in a row, the Footwear Testing Laboratory of the Zlín University´s  Footwear Research Centre  defended its accreditation. The laboratory has met the accreditation requirements according to ČSN EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018, which specifies the general demands for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of the laboratory.

The re-granting of accreditation demonstrates that the laboratory is eligible to continue  updating standards identifying test procedures in terms of quality trends and according to customer requirements. The obtained accreditation also helps to facilitate cooperation both between laboratories at the university and external entities,” says Tomáš Sáha, Director of the Footwear Research Centre.

The footwear testing laboratory cooperates with beginning entrepreneurs as well as with large footwear manufacturers from the Zlín Region and abroad.

“Last year, we performed countless certifications covering all 11 accredited testing procedures and methods. The granted accreditations relate to testing the physical and mechanical properties of footwear materials and products made of leather, imitation of leather, textile materials, plastics and rubber, ”explains Jarmila Roubínková, Deputy Head of the Laboratory.
