Participation in the 2nd National Spin-Off Day 2025 in Ostrava

On December 3, 2025, representatives of the Technology Transfer Centre of Tomas Bata University, Ing. Jarmila Strážnická and Ing. Přemysl Strážnický, Ph.D., in Zlín participated in an event organized by the CzechInvest agency in cooperation with the Technical University of Ostrava and the Industrial Property Office, focused on supporting the establishment of university and academic spin-off companies, held at the University Auditorium of the Technical University of Ostrava. The conference featured contributions from Igor Ivan, Rector of the Technical University of Ostrava, Jan Michal, Director General of the CzechInvest agency, international guests from the Technical University of Krakow and Vienna, and presentations of successful spin-offs, including projects such as autinno, DynaNIC Semiconductors, Rosteam, and Atomiver. Topics discussed included obstacles in establishing spin-offs, intellectual property protection, the new Act on Research, Development, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer (328/2025 Coll.), and investor support. Participation in the event provided valuable insights into the establishment of spin-offs in the Czech Republic and abroad and enabled networking with experts, investors, and university representatives. The event was beneficial for fostering cooperation between academia and the business sector.
