Interesting and innovative technologies

June 2023Zlín/Prague – 12/06/2023 – The Tomáš Bata University in Zlín presented interesting and innovative technologies from many areas of research at the largest popular science event in our country – Science Fair 2023, which took place from 8 to 10 June 2023 at the PVA EXPO Prague exhibition center .
Several faculties and research centers of TUB in Zlín, including the Polymer Systems Center, presented themselves at the fair. At the CPS stand, visitors found a number of interesting demonstrations related to both applied and basic research. Young visitors tried polymers in the form of a game in the production of “slime”, got to know organic LEDs and also saw demonstrations of polymer generators working on the piezoelectric and triboelectric principles. In addition, CPS scientists provided detailed information on the center’s instrumentation and collaboration opportunities. In addition to CPS, the Faculty of Technology also represented TUB with, for example, a unique musical instrument – an electric cello, which was produced using additive manufacturing and in the development of which the faculty participates. The Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management presented interesting topics from the field of environmental security at the fair. Visitors could enjoy dendrochronology, bioacoustics and ecoacoustics or participate in biodiversity mapping. The Center for Security, Information and Communication Technologies (CEBIA-Tech) presented demonstrations of virtual and augmented reality, robotic systems and their subsequent use in practice.
