Experts in the Plastics Industry Gathered in Zlín

About two hundred experts in the plastics industry gathered in Zlín yesterday and today. The specialized international conference entitled PLASTKO 2022 takes place here. The event is organized by the University Institute of Tomas Bata in Zlín and by the Plastics Cluster.

The aim of the conference is to show the world and its surroundings that the plastics production and processing sector is not only a reprehensible field, as presented by many mass media, but, on the contrary, that it contributes in the long term to the protection of the environment in which we live,” says Prof. Ing. Petr Sáha, CSc., Director of the University Institute of TBU in Zlín, and adds: “And, of course, to tell manufacturers what reasoning should be used when promoting products in the end markets.”

The conference is held again after four years; in 2020 it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We can see that the pause was long and that the attendees are looking forward to attending the conference. We are happy to see that experts from among the public have gathered in Zlín in such large numbers,” said Ivana Bartoníková, Director of the Technology Transfer Centre of TBU in Zlín, on behalf of the organizers.

Visitors can look forward to lectures by experts who have been working in the field of “bio-plastics” for a long time, to case studies changing the perspective on the use of plastics, as well as to conference papers by lecturers from different fields and showing different opinions on the subject of plastics.

“Representatives of the prestigious European platform ECP4 for the processing of composites, plastics and polymers have also arrived in Zlín to attend the conference,” adds David Hausner, Director of the Plastics Cluster.

The conference will take place at the Faculty of Humanities on Štefánikova Street in Zlín. A detailed programme is available at http://cps.utb.cz/en/conference-plastko-2022.
