Centre of Polymer Systems at the Science Fair 2025
9. June 2025Tomas Bata University (UTB) in Zlín once again took part in the scientific event of the year – Science Fair 2025. The fair was held at the PVA EXPO exhibition center in Prague Letňany, starting on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and concluding on Saturday, June 7. This largest science popularization event in the Czech Republic is organized by the Czech Academy of Sciences, with participation from not only its own institutes but also universities, companies, and other institutions.
This year, the Centre of Polymer Systems and the Footwear Research Centre of the University Institute at Tomas Bata University were also among the exhibitors.
Visitors to the exhibition had the chance to see a wide range of engaging demonstrations, including the production of viscoelastic polymer “slime,” eco-friendly hydrogels made from whey, examples of polymer electricity generators, and textile recycling. They also explored the latest trends in materials used for footwear production, 3D printing of lasts and footwear components, and took a look inside the Human Motion Diagnostics Laboratory.
The Centre of Polymer Systems also presented its opportunities for collaboration with companies and institutions, focusing on both applied and fundamental research.
